Yesterday, on National Running Day, Spider runner Matt Llano was a guest on Greg Burton's ESPN950 Talk Radio program... He talked about qualifying to the NCAA Championships final in the 10K and National Running Day. A link to the interview is located below.
A Note Of Clarification...
When Greg Burton speaks of Matt being the first runner since 1978 to qualify for the NCAA National Track & Field Championship, he of course is referring to the Spider Men's Team... Several members of the Women's Track & Field Team have competed at the National Championships...including last year when sophomore, Nicol Traynor competed in the NCAA Championships 5K. She set the 5K program record for women last season at 16:17.64, averaging 5:12 per mile for the 3.1 mile distance.
