Richmond Spiders at the 2012 Virginia Outdoor Classic

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Senior Meaghan McGovern's third-place performance highlighted Spider Track & Field's finishes at Saturday's Virginia Classic in Charlottesville.
After smashing the school record in the hammer throw at the Atlantic 10 Championship a week ago, McGovern (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown) returned to the circle to take third with a hurl of 54.16 meters. She ranked 26th in the NCAA East Region in the event heading into the weekend with her program record of 57.03 meters.

Classmate Amanda Caporelli (Churchville, Va./Buffalo Gap) copped a top-10 showing of her own on Saturday, capping off her collegiate career with a seventh-place finish of 5.31 meters in the long jump.

A pair of sophomores were also in action for the Spiders at the Cavaliers' last-chance meet, as Ryan Lee(Wilmington, Del./Archmere Academy) clocked a 14:48.52 in the 5,000 Meters and Alli Mannon (Litiz, Pa./Warwick) turned in a time of 4:35.46 in the 1,500 Meters.
