Richmond's Llano and Wilson to Race USA 15K National Championships


Matt Llano, shown here at the 2010 NCAA Championships in Eugene, OR, on his way to earning All-America honors in the 10K. Llano ran 28:51 at Stanford's Cardinal Invitational earlier in the same season. This past fall he led the Spiders cross country team to a 24th place team finish at the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championships. He placed 43rd as an individual narrowly missing All-America honors.

Jon Wilson will join our nations best distance runners tomorrow morning on the starting line of the Gate River Run in Jacksonville, FL. The race will serve as the USATF 15K National Championship. Wilson was a key to the Spiders success last fall during the cross country season with a string of exceptional races at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships, NCAA Southeast region and NCAA National Championships. This will also be his first 15K race...

USATF National 15K Championships

Tomorrow morning at 8:20AM (Saturday, March 12th) Richmond's Matt Llano and Jon Wilson will race the USATF 15K National Championships in Jacksonville, FL at the 34th annual Gate River Run. It's also the largest 15K in the USA with roughly 20,000 athletes expected to participate in the festival.
This race is being touted as the deepest USA field in race history with over 60 invited runners...For more information on the Elite Field go HERE.
