Richmond cross country ready to take on the top 30 teams in the nation

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND - The Richmond Spiders are in Terre Haute, Ind. this weekend, preparing for the 2010 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on Monday, Nov. 22. Redshirt-senior Amy Van Alstine will compete in the women's 6K race at 12:08 p.m. and the men's team will participate in the men's 10K at 12:48 p.m.
The Championships are hosted by Indiana State University and will take place at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute. Both races will be streaming live through the NCAA website. To watch them live, follow the link.
The Spider men's team consists of seven runners and one alternate, including redshirt-senior Andrew Benford, junior Levi Grandt, redshirt-senior Matt Llano, sophomore Conor Phelan (Alternate), senior Tim Quinn, Jason Skipper, redshirt-senior Jon Wilson, and sophomore Chris York. The men's 10K will consist of 256 men, including the seven Spiders. To view the map of the men's course, click here.
This will not be the first National Championship for redshirt-senior Matt Llano. In 2008, he represented the University of Richmond as in individual in the men's 10K race, and finished.... READ MORE HERE
