Practice at Roslyn

Roslyn Episcopal Retreat Center is a little over a mile from campus and one of the locations we do our workouts...Their property offers lots of hills and lies next to the James River which serves as a perfect backdrop for a hard effort.
Stephanie Paradis and Clare Moretz climb "Jacobs Ladder" at Roslyn just before the sun comes up...Jacobs Ladder is a very steep hill on the property that is well known to runners who grew up in the Richmond area...

Spiders 2011 Preseason Cross Country Camp (DAYS 3 & 4-Mountains Call/Panther Falls)

Day 3 began early with a run from Buena Vista to the Blue Ridge Parkway...Buena Vista is a town of roughly 6,000 at the base of the West side of the Blue Ridge Mountains sitting at roughly 500' above sea level. Our team mission for this day was a hard and fast effort to climb the ~2,000' of elevation gain spread over a 4 mile climb... it helped accomplish many of our early preseason goals while finding the grit of our team.
