Atlantic 10 Championships-DAY #3 (Meet Day Begins)

Matt Llano won the A-10 Ttitle in the 10K setting the Championship and UMASS Facility Record in the process with his time of 29:43.12
It was a hot day with temperatures close to 90 so the team sought shelter in the team tent.

Llano negative split the 10K covering the 1st half (5K) in 15:08.6 and the 2nd half in 14:34.5

Tim Quinn placed 3rd (30:23.20) in the 10K after leading early with Llano.

Freshman, Chris York rana 2 second PR in the Mass. heat to place 8th in 31:26.91.

Julie Rechel was relentless in the 10K seting a PR of 36:00.17 to place 2nd. Her time ranks #38 in the NCAA East Super Regional...top 48 qualify to the 1st round of the NCAA Championships.

Erin Lunny placed 5th in the 10K with a PR of 36:59.37. She passed 3 runners in the last 1K. Tough racing over the last mile.

Emma Berry in the 10K running 40:24.81

Freshman, Molly McGrath is in 7th place in the Heptathlon with 2518 points...Teammate Meghan Hart is in 8th with 2244 points.

Heather Roush placed 3rd in the discus throw with a season best of 45.76M

Monica Howard placed 4th behind her teammate also with a season best of 45.22M

A great series in the Hammer for Meaghan McGovern to place 3rd...her throws in order were 52.32m /53.48m /53.50m /54.43m/53.22m/53.74m

Senior, Garrett Graham couldn't match his early season PR of 9:16 in the 3K steeple today when he placed 6th in 9:35.62

Megan Ney led the long jump for most of the competition jumping 5.75M to finish 2nd.

X'auntasa Johnson placed 11th in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.33M

The women's 4x800M getting last minute instrutions.

Freshman, Stephanie Paradis ran 2:16.6 on the anchor leg along with Alyssa Mankin (2:22.2), Andi Defonce (2:15.2), Diana Filtz (2:23.0) they ran 9:17.56 to place 8th.

Freshman Mike Petrakis (1:58.3) ran the 3rd leg of the men's 4x800M with teammates...Sophomore, Steve Rachman (1:57.2), Junior, Matt Mello (1:57.1) and Freshman, Adam Spatacco (2:02.1) running 7:55.57 to place 9th.
